digging back into the archives of mojitos and other madness...it kinda shocks me that this post was actually promised way back in july 2007! too long overdue in my book and this girl humbly apologises!
finally...this girl makes a trip back to familiar ground for that bowl of wholesome prawn noodles that she pretty much grew up on. beach road prawn noodles is officially still my favourite...located along east coast road (not beach road!), and proof of how popular the stall is, they've since expanded to occupy two stalls and operate even on sundays. the sure winner of this place is without a doubt the sweet stock. one taste of it and you will be able to taste the heartiness of the pork bone and the sweetness of the prawns. the noodles eaten dry or with soup are both just as good..although this girl will highly recommend the dry version, just because of the awesome freshly fried onions that garnish the dish and together with a sprinkle of the chilli 'gun' powder and fresh prawns, this truly is the definition of authentic prawn noodles!
don't forget to have a plate of the yummy wu xiang....yes, the synergism still puzzles me but it is only when this girl has prawn noodles does she ever eat wu xiang! freshly fried and served piping hot, it didn't matter whether it was the fried popiah or ngoh hiang or prawn cracker one was dipping in the awesome chilli sauce....washed down with a big glass of lime juice....this is one meal that always..and i mean always satisfies!

Hi Lydia,
There is much to be said for the prawn mee on East Coast Road! You are right--it is all about the soup stock! Perhaps they put crack in it?!
Cheers
Marc
