starting with desserts!

pak law shook things up a bit by basically not cooking, yes you read right, not cooking last week. the regulars were still in for a rich and satisfying meal with about seven different cheese, four different types of biscuits and three cold cuts. this girl really didn't expect to be that full after the dinner...but with awesome biscuits, especially the thin ones from jones the grocer that auntie ta brought, and the many different kinds of cheese, i surprised myself at the amount i managed to wolf down! we had two fruit cheeses, two bries, a camembert, a cheddar and a blue...pretty much all the types of cheese i knew existed! coupled with fresh quince... i found that i had a soft spot for the soft creamy cheeses, both sweet and salty *wink* just as much as the cheese was good, the cold cuts were outstanding as well, from the pate ben got from gourmet plus, to the prosciutto and salami that pak law sourced from his trusty butcher...we basically wolfed down everything in twenty minutes flat!

dessert was, as always, perfect. this girl doesn't know how auntie ta does it, but she always manages to whip up an outstanding dessert to literally, complete the meal. the grand finale was what we had...and yes while we've had it before...this time it was slightly different as auntie took a black forest twist with it. so think rich chocolate cake filled with rum soaked cherries and smoothered with freshly whipped cream. yum! it was definitely a 'eat desserts first' day at restaurant one six b...and this girl will bet her dollar that round two will be hitting the diners again soon!

Hi Lydia,

A dinner of cheese, fruit, cold cuts and dessert... Much to be said for it! I've heard that Aunty Olivia is great with desserts, but I've not had the pleasure yet. I guess that's one of the disadvantages of living so far away.

Cheers
Marc
