dia confesses that she has only had curry peng from this hawker and no where else in singapore, for she isn't one for this kind of economy rice concept type meals. in any case, the curry peng at lau di fang is really quite awesome. one may think dia doesn't have any basis of comparison, having only had it from one store, or one could take it that the meal is so good that dia only wants to have curry peng at lau di fang *grin*
anyone who likes the rice or noodles with lots of gravy would be blown away by the curry sauce here. wet and gooey, the sauce maintains its curry flavour without the overpowering spices. slap on the chilli sauce, one could just devour the rice with the curry sauce, without having to reach out for anything else! they serve a variety of side dishes, but we usually have the old school ones of the sam cham ba, cabbage and curry chicken. simple but truly yummy, transporting one back to memories of home cooked food grandma used to make.
open everyday till late, lau di fang is really the good old place for some old school curry peng.
