burger bliss!

the picture you see and the post you are about to read is not a mistake. yes, you guessed right, it is the classic mosaic walls and blackboard of the burger bench and bar...and no, this is not a mistake re-post of the b3 post written just 5 posts back...it is actually yet another rave about the awesome burgers served at b3 and marks yet another first in mojitos' history as being the first food establishment that this girl has been back religiously three weeks (yes, three weeks!) in a row!

visit two was inspired after watching an episode of anthony boudain's no reservations series which had him tucking into a kickass burger from a diner joint in new york....i planned to actually write up a quickie update on the two new burgers we had back then, but things kinda got put on hold with everything else that is going on in my life. i guess it turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we managed to convince my niece to shelve the idea of tucking into fries at everything with fries last saturday and head to uncle willin's new burger place instead...and this girl is know proud to be able to say that she has had a bite of every single burger off b-cube's menu (and all in the span of three weeks no less!) and the verdict is every single creation was delicious!

the beef burgers at b3, i think, are sure winners anytime. made from freshly ground beef, these hand made patties are cooked to pink perfection such that it really doesn't matter if you have it just classic-ly with lettuce, cheese and tomato, smothered with b3's homemade tomato relish, covered with homemade sarawak black pepper sauce or topped with oh-so heavenly caramelized onions or wild mushrooms, these babies will definitely satisfy any and every beef burger craving you have.

in addition to the classics, b3 serves up two japanese-inspired creations - the sesame wasbi fish burger (left) and the curry katsu chicken burger (right). to be honest, this girl is a little wary about fillet type patties as they tend to be a tad more oily....which is why although i was quite intrigued by the curry katsu burger when we first visited b3, i decided to be a little less adventurous and stick with the beef burgers instead. having tasted it now though, i realized that my worries were truly unfounded as the chicken cutlets were anything but oily. think crisp envelopes and tender and moist chicken meat topped with some pretty authentic japanese curry sauce. oiishi! if curry katsu is not your thing, have the seasme wasabi fish. again, think crisp shells encasing a fresh fish fillet and topped with yummy wasabi mayo with just the right amount of kick.

the grilled chicken breast with jalapeno and homemade tomato relish gets my vote if you are carving something less heavy. with tender and juicy meat  augmented by the tangy relish, spicy jalapeno and sweet onions this burger definitely packs some wholesome goodness! and if you are still nibbly and or are in the mood for some wings, do definitely have an order of b3's chicken wings. deep fried only upon order, this morsels are coated with a really nice herb infused, slightly spicy bread crumbed shell, enveloping fresh juicy dark meat. served with their very own spin on the thai chilli sauce, these are perfect to begin or pause the meal on!

soft shell chilli crab burger

i've deliberately saved what i think is the most ingenious and delicious creation of b-cube to the end *grin*. the soft shell chilli crab burger. not being a huge fan of soft shell crab to begin, i was honestly a little skeptical and would ordinarily not consider ordering it. but one bite of this creation, i was blown away. the combination of texture and sweet, salty and spicy flavors was phenomenal. just imagine a  thick chilli crab sauce covering freshly battered and fried sweet crab. sandwiched between a fresh sesame seed bun, bed of lettuce and slice of vine tomato, this is the burger everyone has to try at b3!

so what are you waiting for? head on down for some burger bliss! and don't forget to save space for the awesome gourmet dark chocolate soft serve....you will not regret it!
