one six b's finest

this is gonna be a somewhat short and sweet post to mark the coming out of a week of hospitalization leave (thanks to surgery number three in my journey toward getting my first implant) and the somewhat anticipation of the mayhem of the coming week, as i close the chapter of working at my present job. one would think i would have more time to blog during the rest week...but the time simply flew past as i nursed a swollen cheek, a cold and an overflowing inbox. but i digress... this post is as the title suggests...a recap of yet another chillax dinner with great company, fun guests tucking in full on to some of one six b's fab & favorite dishes - starting off with pak law's kick ass caesar salad.

i know the pic doesn't quite show the dressed up salad in all of its rich mayo, crisp anchovies and crouton glory but i thought my photo attempt post photography class was pretty good, capturing the clean beginnings to an awesome salad course...pretty much in line with the mantra that good food so begins with fresh wholesome ingredients!

speaking of good...the mains that saturday evening was some pretty extraordinary cuts of wagyu beef. perfectly marbled and cooked till medium rare, these thinly sliced steaks, flavored in their own jus, literally melted in one's mouth, making knees all go wobbly! eaten as is or with a touch of horse radish, the beef was outstanding. pak law's really outdone himself this time so kudos to the chef for spoiling us rotten!

a special mention of the grilled sea bass pak law put together for the non-red meat eaters has to be made since my recent rave about the poisson repertoire he has since developed. this one should definitely be included as he managed to take a simple fish and transformed it into a classic and clean yet flavorful dish. smooth with just the right amount of tang, the sea bass was a hit with both non meat eaters and meat eaters alike!

to round off the fab dinner, we were treated to auntie ta's yummy watermelon granita. perfect if you ask me to help cleanse the palate and end the heavy dinner on a light sweet note. made with a generous portion of champagne and topped with sweet strawberries and freshly whipped cream, the granita was in one word heavenly!

most of these dishes have probably been posted up on mojitos before, but this girl would like to think that this time, my pictures have hopefully improved a bit to make the dishes look as delish as they really taste! this was one of those awesome dinners that one will remember looking back....definitely one of one six b's finest!
