not many people know this, but this girl actually has a nutella & peanut butter sandwich for brekkie almost everyday of the work week. i know you must think i am mad but honestly, i really have not (and will probably not!) ever get tired of the smooth hazelnut chocolate sweetness and salty crunchy peanut butter combination. being world nutella day yesterday (february fifth), i thought i'd pay tribute to the humble hazelnut spread that has fueled many of my days and have contributed to the fun i have messing about in the kitchen!
it was actually just recently that i almost polished off a whole bottle of nutella, in my bid to re-create some caramel nutella crisps that i spotted off the taste spotting webbie. one really can't go quite wrong with a nutella based cookie with a soft caramel centre, also explaining why this recipe is part of another blogger's cookie sharing list! think simple ingredients mashed up quite easily with the trusty kitchen aid and baked equally effortless in the oven for just ten minutes. the most difficult bit in putting these yummy crisps together is the rolling of the cookie dough around mini mars bars (my alternative to the recipe's recommended milk duds) but honestly, it was quite fun...though a tad messy with the use of hands to ball these beauts together!
the outcome....crispy hazelnutty cookies with a soft chewy centre! definitely worthy of a mention and a try out in the kitchen if you happen to be in the mood for some nutella - cookie style!
happie world nutella day peeps!
ps: recipe can be found here (shout out to my kitchen addiction!)
