hawker rocker 112 - worth the twenty minute wait?

would you wait? honestly...if i knew that the wait was a good twenty minutes, i would have hauled g over to the other corner coffee shop for mee pok. but i guess the crew at 'lao lim' got it cleverly under wraps with no visible queues when you place your order and the draw of niang dou foo to complement one's mee pok adventure, so the twenty odd minute wait didn't seem that long! but i guess the million dollar question was whether this jalan tua kong mee pok's claim to fame was truly worth the wait. coming from one who really thinks generically that the dish itself is hard to be that discerningly outstanding, this girl votes yes to waiting. the magic to the dish i think is the mixture of sauces in which the al dente cooked flat noodles was tossed in, a bit of pork lard, soy sauce, sesame and some quite kick ass chilli. with a pair of fresh fish balls, touch of both minced and lean meat, and a complementary serving of bean sprouts cooked just right, i see why this stall plasters its many mentions and awards proudly on its walls!

ps. the niang dou foo isn't bad and worth whetting the appetite with...in addition to help kill the waiting time!
