crumble crumble crumble!

i think i can officially conclude that the best crumble i've had in my almost thirty years of living is the ones that are home-made and in particular, the berry apple crumble my auntie ta baked for the law clan gathering on national day...

i didn't really want to eat and run but i was heading off to g's so helped myself to a generous slice before even auntie ta could even finish her dinner! i reached g's after making a slight detour to get a tub of haagen daz vanilla ice cream to dress the crumble (auntie ta's instructions!) and almost started on the dessert before g reached home! not that it actually made a difference because i had the dessert while g was having the bit of mee siam and chicken i brought over...and i tried to leave him some but the crumble was just too good and g, knowing how much i enjoy the dessert, let me indulge by letting my finish the whole slice!

no place else could beat this crumble because auntie ta really didn't stinge on the berries and apple that she used. made from scratch, the fruit was cooked till soft and baked with the most awesome crumble mix. most other places use a lot of flour in their crumble but auntie ta knew the way to good crumble was to use more sugar, resulting in a truly fantastic crumble top that i could eat just on its own with a scoop of good old french vanilla ice cream! the fruit bottom was quite out of this world as well, not overly sweet with a generous serving of mixed berries and apple... very very yummy! this crumble gila girl is already looking forward to auntie ta's next crumble creation!
