it's mid week and slightly unusual that pak law decided to whip up something up in the kitchen. not that he doesn't cook during the week, or that what he does cook isn't good (or what has now been coined 'blog-worthy' *grin*), its just that we usually keep the more fancy type food to the weekend, where we have a good 8 people sitting around the table, enjoying a pretty much full course meal.
but i guess pak law was experimenting, and at the back of his mind, planning ahead to wow the regulars of one six b with this possibly new addition to his repertoire - oso buco. i do admit that i have had oso buco at quite a number of makansutra rated 5 to 6 chopsticks places and thought they were all good...but that wednesday evening, the steaming pot of ox tail simmering in red stew really wowed all of us at home for dinner. the meat was stewed till tender, and literally, falling off the bone. and unlike all the other oso bucos that i have had, this one had a nice twist, with the addition of nice juicy herb filled italian sausages, which pretty much took the dish a few notches up from the rest! the stew was rich with the combined flavours of tomatoes, celery and carrots, with a hint of pak law's secret ingredient - the anchovy. being the bread person i am, i easily wolfed down 3 slices of lightly toasted bread, dipping them in the awesome stew!
all of us were yes, wowed! one kick-ass dish that i believe, would have everyone agreeing is a must-have on pak law's repertoire! *grin*
