its official...dia's a proud owner of a new fuji finepix z5! woo hoo! talk about being quick eh? got a really good deal at mustafa, thanks to g who suggested we go there to check out prices. thought i'd already covered all grounds after going through the papers on friday and religiously cutting out all the ads on digi cams, but i was wrong!
it was actually a toss up between the fuji finepix z3 (just because it came in a baby blue and a baby pink!) and the casio exilim ex-z75. was actually working with a budget of less than $400 but was sold at the value for money once the fuji z5 was demo-ed. it had a really cool face detection feature, on top of higher mega-pix rating, and all for just $56 more than the z3. so after playing with it a little, i decided that a camera-idiot like me would need all the help i can get while attempting to take pictures. long story short? i got the z5 at a cool $415, 1 gigabyte memory card and free tripod thrown in! the fuschia pink model would have been the icing on the cake but its all good. the silver's got the understated elegance that i like. and for the record, just for fun, we checked out the prices at best denki today and the z5 was going for $499!
