proud to peranakan!


as with every chinese new year, the family tradition is to indulge in a full fletched peranakan feast. i know that i have raved about the feast before but as we really only indulge to this extent once a year, i figured that it is part of my duty as a peranakan to share with all the tremendous array of food that we had on the first day of the tiger year *grin*!

keeping in the spirit with it being the new year, i decided to try out something new with mojitos as well...so instead of static piccies in these posts, i ventured into the somewhat unknown world of flash and thanks to animoto, managed to stitched together a little video of the peranakan spread we had. the spread you will see includes the traditional salmon yusheng, roasted suckling pig (we had 2!), ayam buah keluak, ayam sio, sambal berlim bling, bawang kepeting, liver balls, hir peow soup, nonya chap chye and sambal timun.
