okay...i do admit this post is a little late..but as they say, better late then never! so here's the post describing the dinner we had on hari raya haji, with auntie ta back and bringing desserts back to the meals at one six b!
the main for that evening was ribs...pork ribs to be exact. pak law was trying his hand at barbecuing up some ribs and for a first attempt, it was pretty good. the meat was tender and juicy and not overly smothered with barbecue sauce...thinking back though to the fantastic ribs i had at the prime society, i told pak law that he has gotten the cooking part of the meat sorted and will just need to work on improving the sauce just a little...one could already see the wheels in pak law's head turning as to how to improve on the dish, so this girl is quite sure he will soon be able to add yet another winner to his barbecue and grill repertoire.
as always, the highlight for me would be dessert... and even more so at this particular dinner as auntie ta was back from the u.s., and brought with her a strawberry tiramisu, topped with the two whole punnets worth of awesome korean strawberries. kudos to auntie ta for transforming the classic rich tiramisu dessert into this light and refreshing one...with layers of yummy sponge fingers sandwiching lightly whipped cream and topped with huge juicy sweet strawberries. it is official....one six be is out of the dessert desert!
