dia's a chunk spelunker and proud of it!

today, 17th april marks ben & jerry's free cone day and yes i gamely made my way to the scoop shop at the cathay to soak up some fun. did you know the first-ever free cone day was held in 1979, a year after ben and jerry opened their shop in vermont usa? so its been 28 whole years since the world's been introduced to chunky ice cream and i can dare say that the world has definitely not have had enough of ben & jerry's.

from out of this world names for their flavours, to promoting environmental consciousness and of course, free cone day, who could ask for more! there is a flavour for everyone, for every occasion, for every mood. and just for the record, the chunk spelunker in me would highly recommend the cherry garcia for the yummy pieces of brandied cherry, strawberry cheesecake for the best frozen cheesecake version one can ever have, new york super fudge chunk for having nuts in every scoop, peanut butter cup for humongous chunks of reese, marsha marsha marshamellow for old school gooey rocky road, and chocolate chip cookie dough just for the cookie dough! (disclaimer: the flavours are in no particular order and the list will be grow as this chunk spelunker ventures further into the world of ben & jerry's! *grin*)

so as much as free cone day is in appreciation of customers all over the world for supporting ben & jerry's, i would like to take a different stand today and say a big thank you to ben & jerry's for adding that chunk and spunk into my life! 5 out of 5 scoopies!

pssssst! don't say i didn't tell you! in the month of may, ben & jerry's gonna be opening at dempsey hill!
